What is Guild of Guardians?
Guild of Guardians is a play-to-earn (P2E) fantasy mobile RPG where players go head-to-head against each other by pitting their selection of guardians as well as joining guild competitions to earn in-game rewards. It runs on the high-speed Immutable X Ethereum layer-2 network. The goal of the blockchain game is to enable millions of potential players to turn their gaming passion into NFTs.
The Guild of Guardians gameplay mechanics are designed to create a fun and engaging experience for players while giving them enough challenges to keep them on their toes. For instance, players need to devise strategies to outdo others and win guild competitions.
The game also features a trading component where players can mint gaming NFTs or purchase them from secondary markets.
Despite being a F2P game, Guild of Guardians will have its own economy backed by tokens and NFTs, giving users the opportunity to earn monetary rewards and assets that they can trade on the platform’s own gas-free marketplace, as well as on other exchanges and marketplaces.

The project is looking to reach a global audience by serving traditional F2P mobile gamers, P2E gamers, creators, developers, etc. Anyone can become a part of the open-gaming ecosystem and players have complete freedom to choose their roles and specializations within the in-game economy.
What is the in-game currency?
Guild of Guardians Gems (GOG) are the native utility token of the game. As of March 2022, GOG is valued at $0.40 according to CoinMarketCap.
GOG has several use cases:
A medium of payment used to participate in the primary sale of assets
A reward system for players
A governance token
Fuel for minting NFTs
The GOG collected from the minting fees of NFTs in-game are allocated to the rewards pool. Token holders can also use their GOG to stake and earn active rewards. GOG, as a governance token, gives token holders the opportunity to participate in voting functions, such as decision-making on developer grants, changes in token supply and other platform parameters.
The GOG token sale was conducted on the Coinlist platform on November 10, 2021 which sold out. Soon, it will be listed on multiple exchanges, allowing more users to trade the token.
How to get started with Guild of Guardians
Users will be tasked to select a hero they want based on their strategy. Each hero has unique attributes that affect their roles, whether they be a healer, tank or support. Once users have chosen a hero, they’re required to join a guild, an in-game faction consisting of two or more players that work together to achieve certain goals in the game.
Guild of Guardians allows players to bring their team of heroes into dungeons filled with monsters, bosses and unforeseen traps. As they battle through waves of creatures, players can earn rewards that come in the form of resources, currencies and in-game equipment that can be used to upgrade their own heroes or create new equipment via crafting.
Guild of Guardians requires deep strategy considerations since a hero’s performance in battle highly depends on multiple aspects, including its skills, guild, class, elemental synergies with other heroes and many more.
In the future, the developers will introduce more game modes such as guild raids, guild PVP, land gameplay, user-generated dungeons, etc.
Lead a guild
Guilds allow players to access the different game modes of the platform and offer another avenue for them to earn money. In fact, a guild is an essential aspect for creating NFT in-game items, which can be crafted from resources found in dungeons, where each player in the guild can contribute. As soon as the items are sold in marketplaces, the earnings will be distributed to the players automatically in proportion to their contribution.
Marketplace
The in-game store allows players to purchase in-game assets needed to strengthen their heroes or craft their own guilds. The items sold in the store can be bought with fiat currency.
Buy heroes — You can purchase rare, epic and legendary heroes in the game store. Note that heroes can also be combined in order to spawn a more valuable hero. Purchases also come with a chance to earn additional in-game benefits.
Buy pets — You can buy pets or energy boosters that improve the capability of your heroes, especially in how they perform in dungeons. You also can buy a pet summon item, which gives you a chance to create a pet from common to legendary as well as an energy booster token from the store.
How does play-to-earn work within the Guild of Guardians?
There are multiple ways to earn rewards from the game, such as crafting guilds, merging heroes, completing daily quests and acing the leaderboard.
Crafted items from guilds can be sold in marketplaces. The proceeds of a sale are shared by the players of the guild that contributed to the crafted item.
Merging heroes can be profitable since heroes with varying rarity can create a hero that is rarer, which consequently translates to a higher value.
Daily quests and other game activities can generate income too, where players earn GOG tokens that can be converted to cash on exchanges and marketplaces.
What are NFTs in Guild of Guardians?
NFTs are blockchain-based, digital assets that are designed to be unique, unlike traditional cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH that can be interchanged with one another. For instance, if you bag a rare hero in Guild of Guardians, that particular hero will have its own unique set of attributes that aren’t found in other heroes.
Beyond artwork, NFTs have been used to enable the creation and ownership of digital collectibles, in-game assets and many more. If you’re interested in how this all works, you can explore further through our NFT guide.
The Guild of Guardians NFTs are issued as ERC-721 assets, which are designed for the Ethereum blockchain. Fortunately, the gaming platform utilizes Immutable X, a second-layer protocol that helps address transaction speed and costs.
Guild of Guardians allows the purchase of several NFTs, including hero summons, pets, energy boosters, guild crafting tools, etc. The hero summons can be purchased in packs of varying qualities, such as rare, epic and legendary.

Where can I buy Guild of Guardians NFTs?
The Guild of Guardians Wave 3 NFT sale was conducted on the Guild of Guardians store last November 10, which sold out. Luckily, you can buy from other users on the Immutable X marketplace.
Minting on Guild of Guardians
In order to mint on Guild of Guardians, you need to connect your Ethereum-based wallet to Immutable X on the Guild of Guardians minting page. We recommend that you use MetaMask, which can be set up easily with our MetaMask guide.
Then, you will receive the minted NFT to your wallet as soon as you purchase an NFT of your choice.
After minting an NFT, you can trade them on supported marketplaces, such as Immutable X’s official marketplace TokenTrove.
Expected updates and roadmap
The game is expected to release soon, but at the time of writing, there’s no solid launch date. Some features planned as outlined by the Guild of Guardians’ whitepaper are:
Sponsorship programs
Community newsletters and game guides
eSports tournaments
Social hubs
Expansions into metaverse games like Decentraland and The Sandbox
Guild raids and PvP
User-generated dungeons
Bottom line
Guild of Guardians is planned for just mobile, appealing to gamers that enjoy games like Clash of Clans, Defense Zone and Rise of Empires.
Many mobile games thrive on microtransactions, but Guild of Guardians is assuring players that the game is completely free to start playing and earning capabilities will be skill-based.
We eagerly await more updates surrounding the actual gameplay and actual earning potential, and will update this page as more news is announced. In the meantime, there are many other P2E crypto games to check out.
